Ann Vastano was born in Bowmore on the Island of Islay, but grew up living and working in the Scottish Highlands. She has been constantly driven to recreate through art those dramatic land forms which surround her, and is particularly captivated by those character filled bothies and cottages which lie strewn across the highlands. Along with the fickle weather fronts we experience here in the north, these muses are a constant challenge and inspiration.
